Fred Olsen Cruise Lines welcomes third ship back into service

Balmoral will launch its summer sailing programme from Newcastle and Rosyth, UK

Fred Olsen Cruise Lines has welcomed Balmoral back into service with a summer season of sailing from the UK.

Balmoral will split her summer sailings between the British ports of Newcastle in the northeast and Rosyth in Scotland, ahead of its programme of winter sailings from Southampton and Dover in the south.

At the helm will be two new captains, Captain Valentin Giuglea and Captain Steffan Ravneng.

The summer itineraries will offer passengers the chance to witness the midnight sun and the rugged beauty of Arctic Norway, explore the historic towns and cities of Tallinn in Estonia and Riga in Latvia, and experience the famous Golden Circle in Iceland.

Due to its smaller size, Balmoral will also be able to offer scenic sailings into the heart of the Norwegian fjords and along the River Seine in France

With a wide range of durations and destinations, a highlight of Balmoral’s first season of sailing is the 15-night ‘Rugged & Remote Spitsbergen’ cruise, departing from Newcastle on 22 June 2022 with prices starting from US$2,849 per person.

Guests looking for a more compact experience can opt for the four-night ‘France Short Break’ cruise, departing from Dover on 23 September 2022, with prices starting from US$556 per person.

When booked before 31 May 2022, all summer sailing itineraries offer extra benefits, including credit to spend onboard.
