Airline is the UAE's first to fly direct to Basel, Riga, Tallinn and Vilnius
From 2 August 2024, Dubai-based carrier Flydubai will commence flights to Basel (pictured) in Switzerland, marking the airline’s first port in Switzerland, and the first time a national carrier has operate direct flights from Dubai to Basel. Flights will operate four times a week from Terminal 3 at Dubai International.
In addition, from October 2024, the carrier will commence thrice weekly flights direct to the Baltic region, serving Riga in Latvia, Tallinn in Estonia and Vilnius in Lithuania.
These additional routes see the carrier’s network in Europe grow to 44 destinations in 21 countries.

Flydubai senior vice president, commercial operations and e-commerce, Jeyhun Efendi said: “Over the years, we have remained dedicated to opening up under-served destinations and we are pleased to reaffirm this with the addition of Basel, Riga, Tallinn and Vilnius.
"We have already seen strong demand ahead of the route launches and we are confident that our new services will offer more people a convenient and reliable travel experience through Dubai’s aviation hub.”
Since the start of 2024, Flydubai has already commenced flights to Mombasa in Kenya, Langkawi and Penang in Malaysia, and Al Jouf and The Red Sea in Saudi Arabia.
Over the summer, Flydubai will also resume seasonal summer routes to multiple destinations, including Batumi, Corfu, Dubrovnik, Mykonos and Tivat.
