Daily schedule grows to three services
Emirates has launched a third daily service between Dubai and Cape Town, increasing the route to 21 weekly flights while introducing the airline’s Airbus A350 to the South African market.
The outbound flight departs Dubai International Airport (DXB) at 10:25, arriving at Cape Town International Airport (CPT) at 18:05. The return service leaves CPT at 20:00 and arrives in DXB at 07:25 the following day.
The new service is operated by Emirates’ Airbus A350, the airline’s newest aircraft type. Configured with Business, Premium Economy and Economy cabins, it features the airline’s latest cabin interiors and inflight entertainment system.
Emirates has also reinstated its fourth daily Johannesburg service from 1 July, bringing its South Africa operation to 56 weekly flights across Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban.

The Cape Town launch builds on the agreement signed in April 2026 between Emirates and Wesgro, the tourism, trade and investment promotion agency for Cape Town and the Western Cape, to attract more visitors from key markets including the Gulf, India and the Far East.
Afzal Parambil, Emirates’ Regional Manager for Southern Africa, said: “Cape Town has long been one of the most popular destinations on our African network. The launch of a third daily service, operated with our newest aircraft, shows how much we believe in this market. The new flight gives travellers more options and an easier connection to our global network through Dubai, while the A350 offers the latest passenger experience.”
Earlier this month, the carrier introduced comprehensive travel insurance for international passengers, including complimentary medical cover and additional support during unexpected operational disruptions affecting journeys through Dubai. The airline also recently reported a record annual profit of AED22.8 billion (US$6.2 billion) for the year ended 31 March 2026, the highest in its history.
