Tbilisi ranks among top global trending destinations, with nearly 6 million visitors in 2025
From record-breaking visitor numbers to a wave of new hotel openings, Georgia continues to strengthen its position as one of the fastest-growing destinations in the region, according to findings from the 2026 Connecting Travel Insight Report.
Produced in partnership with travel intelligence providers RateHawk and Emerging Travel Group, the report highlights the top 10 outbound destinations for GCC travellers in 2026, with Georgia placing 10th on the list.
Georgia welcomed a record 5.52 million international tourists in 2025, with Adjara, home to the Black Sea resort city of Batumi, taking 25% and Tbilisi accounting for 36% of visits.

Ranked the world’s second‐top trending destination for 2026 by Tripadvisor, Tbilisi charms visitors with its cobbled old town and sulphur baths, as restoration of the Chess Palace, Vera Park and five museum upgrades progress nationwide
Several Batumi hotel openings are also planned for 2026, including a 576‐key Radisson beachfront resort in Gonio with multiple spas and a casino, and a Mercure near the botanical gardens offering a private beach and water park. Meanwhile, Marriott has introduced its third hotel under the Paragraph brand in Georgia, with the launch of Paragraph Golf & Spa Tabori.

Perched atop Mount Tabori, this newly opened hillside retreat features 177 rooms with balconies, a golf course, tennis courts and pools overlooking Tbilisi and the botanical gardens.
Mtskheta museum
An upcoming museum in Mtskheta will feature a landscaped riverside park, pedestrian bridge over the Aragvi and bike paths, creating a gateway to the historic town.
New walking trails and picnic areas
New trails and picnic areas are being added to six protected zones after record visits to sites like Prometheus Cave, with a visitor centre planned at Okatse Canyon.
Accommodation Performance
According to RateHawk data, Georgia’s accommodation sector shows a small increase in average daily rates between 2024 and 2025, while both average length of stay and transaction values record marginal declines.
