Sultanate to add nearly 5,000 keys by 2027
Oman continues to strengthen its regional appeal, ranking among the GCC’s top three inbound markets, according to the 2026 Connecting Travel Insight Report, with data from travel analytics firms RateHawk and Emerging Travel Group.
The sultanate is rolling out tourism investments across the country, most recently unveiling a US$480m mixed-use development in the southeast coastal town of Duqm. New US$31m hotel projects were also announced in the southwestern city of Mirbat and the northeastern town of Al Hamra.

Oman’s hospitality pipeline includes 28 projects totalling 4,789 rooms due by the end of 2027. In the capital, Muscat, openings include a 251-key beachfront Voco and Anantara Bandar Al Khairan with 121 rooms, chalets and villas, an infinity pool and spa. In Salalah, the first Rixos resort will debut with its all-inclusive offering, while five TUI hotels will add 2,000 rooms, and Hilton is rebranding its clifftop Muscat property as a Waldorf Astoria.
Increasing the destination’s appeal, the new Muttrah Cable Car will link the port to Rayah Peak via Flower Park, with scenic stops, dining and attractions, including a giant swing, along the way.
Tivoli La Vie Muscat Hotel
Open from April 2026, this urban retreat features 79 rooms, three dining venues, including a Seen Rooftop restaurant and bar, an Anantara Spa, a rooftop pool and event spaces
Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts Oman
Making its Middle East debut, this 120- key Nickelodeon-themed hotel will open in 2027 at a clifftop destination outside Muscat with a water park and character-led dining venues.
The Malkai Tented Camps
Spanning coastal farmlands, mountain foothills and desert dunes, these three tented camps opening in late 2026 will have 15 suites, a pool, spa, gym, running trails and farm‐to‐fork dining.
Spending in the accommodation sector grew by 15% year-on-year, driven by longer stays and higher Average Daily Rates (ADR) in hotels across the sultanate.
