Brand expands presence in Egypt with debut Nile cruise collection
Preferred Hotels & Resorts added 21 new members to its global portfolio in the last quarter of 2025, strengthening its presence in the Middle East with seven additions, six in Egypt and one in Israel. The new entries range from boutique hideaways to heritage-rich urban landmarks and river cruises, marking a period of strong growth for the independent hotel brand.
Significantly, Preferred entered Egypt’s Nile cruise segment through a new partnership with Mazaj Cruises & Dahabiyahs. The five vessels – Mazaj Meroot, Mazaj Tamr, Mazaj Tulip, Mazaj Seba and Mazaj Sia – now sail under the Preferred flag, offering experiences that range from intimate dahabiyas to larger river cruise ships with up to 47 cabins. Each vessel features tailored itineraries along the Nile, sailing between Luxor and Aswan.
Also joining the portfolio is Coral Sea Holiday Resort in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, which becomes part of the brand’s Lifestyle Collection. The family-friendly resort features 84 rooms and suites, including swim-up options, alongside landscaped gardens, a wellness centre, kids’ club, on-site aqua park and several dining and entertainment venues.
In neighbouring Israel, The Jaffa Hotel in Tel Aviv has been welcomed into Preferred’s Legend Collection. Set within a meticulously restored 19th-century building, the property blends historic charm with contemporary elegance, offering Mediterranean-inspired dining, a luxury spa and an outdoor pool.
Beyond the Middle East, new global additions include Il Salviatino, a 39-key Renaissance villa in Florence, Italy; the waterfront Admiral Hotel in Copenhagen, housed in an 18th-century naval warehouse; and Samsara Ubud in Bali, a boutique retreat with 17 private villas and a holistic spa overlooking lush rice fields.
Other new members include Ocean Drive hotels in Ibiza and Madrid, as well as properties across Panama, China, Spain, South Africa and the US.
Describing the announcement as one of the most "significant" new member unveilings in recent years, Lindsey Ueberroth, CEO of Preferred Hotels & Resorts, said the additions "underscore our dedication to curating exceptional, experience-driven travel across the globe – highlighted by our exciting debut in Egypt’s luxury Nile cruise sector, with five outstanding cruise experiences now joining our worldwide portfolio.
The full list of new members joining the Preferred Hotels & Resorts global portfolio spans 1 October to 31 December 2025.
