Abu Dhabi attraction claims Guinness World Record

Abu Dhabi’s Yas Waterworld has secured a Guinness World Records title for the most waterslides in a water park, with a record-breaking total of 55 attractions. 

​The accolade was presented during a ceremony attended by Hanane Spiers, Official Guinness World Records Adjudicator for the MENA region and Türkiye, Dr Mohamed Abdalla Al Zaabi, Group CEO of Miral and Rayan Al Haddar, General Manager of Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi. 

The recognition comes just months after the water park unveiled an expansion in April 2026, adding 11 new attractions, including Matamir’s Drop, a 40-metre drop slide billed by developer Miral as the UAE’s tallest waterslide. Other additions include a Matamir Splash, a dual-lane mat racing slide, and Sahel Matamir, a high-speed freefall tube racer.

Commenting on the win, Rayan Al Haddar said: “We are incredibly proud to receive the Guinness World Records title for the most waterslides in a water park. The addition of our newest attractions reflects our ongoing commitment to delivering innovative and world-class experiences for our guests.” 

The latest accolade adds to Yas Waterworld’s recent industry recognition. The park was named the Middle East’s Leading Water Park at the 2024 World Travel Awards and received TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice recognition in 2023. Yas Waterworld is also the second destination on Yas Island to win a Guinness World Record title, joining SeaWorld Abu Dhabi which was recognised as the Largest Indoor Marine-Life Theme Park in the world in 2024. 

Opened in 2013, Yas Waterworld was among the first few attractions to launch on Yas Island. Today, the destination is home to SeaWorld Yas Island, Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, Ferrari World Yas Island, Yas Marina Circuit and Etihad Arena.

Looking ahead, Disneyland Abu Dhabi will join the island’s lineup as its fifth theme park in the 2030s, introducing Disney’s first Middle Eastern resort with an indoor, Arabian-themed concept.
