Formula 1 season finale attracts 203,000 fans, up 6% from 2024
The 2025 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix concluded with a historic milestone, attracting a record 339,000 fans across all race weekend events at Yas Marina Circuit.
The finale of Formula 1’s 75th season saw 203,000 spectators fill the stands for the three-way championship showdown between McLaren’s Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, and Red Bull’s Max Verstappen, an increase of nearly 6% from the previous year’s 192,000-strong attendance.
After-race concerts reached new heights, attracting a record 136,000 visitors. The star-studded lineup featured global artists such as Elyanna, Benson Boone, Post Malone, Metallica and Katy Perry, alongside official after-parties with performances by Idris Elba, Keinemusik and Calvin Harris.
Enhanced fan experiences also contributed to the event’s success. Extended track access, including public pit lane walks and a special track walk on 4 December drew unprecedented crowds, making it one of the biggest Thursdays in the race’s history. Daily entertainment and immersive activities kept fans engaged throughout the weekend.

Hosted by local group Ethara, the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix remains a key event on the global F1 calendar, with attendance from high-profile guests, including tech billionaire Bill Gates, former footballer Ronaldinho and actress Ana de Armas, who waved the chequered flag during one of the races.
Sustainability was a key priority, with organisers tripling the use of solar power, operating temporary generators on 100% biofuel blends and installing public water stations across the event, eliminating more than 520,000 plastic bottles.
Saif Rashid Al Noaimi, CEO of Ethara, said, “This year’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix will be remembered for decades with the F1 title battle unfolding under the floodlights of Yas Marina Circuit.
“We welcomed more fans than ever, underpinned by a world-class entertainment programme and innovations to the fan experience, including the introduction of new hospitality concepts, new on-site activations, and enhanced Abu Dhabi-wide ticket inclusions – all contributing to an unforgettable event.”
Abu Dhabi has been hosting F1 race weekends since 2009 and has held the coveted season finale slot since 2014, renowned for its day-to-night racing format.
Flagship events such as the F1 Grand Prix continue to drive tourism to Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island, where international visitors surged 50% in summer 2025. Neighbouring Saadiyat Island is also gaining popularity, bolstered by the recent openings of cultural attractions, including the Zayed National Museum and Natural History Museum.
