Enhanced DCT platform offers quicker licensing and stronger compliance
Holiday home operators in Abu Dhabi can now expect faster approvals and more efficient licensing processes following updates to the Department of Culture and Tourism’s (DCT) digital regulatory system.
The enhanced interface simplifies licensing procedures, reducing turnaround times, while services such as revenue management for vacation rentals and links to other government entities have also been improved.
Newly upgraded functions provide efficient tools for monitoring, inspections and compliance tracking, allowing operators to maintain quality and safety standards in line with legal regulations.
Data protection remains a priority, with DCT Abu Dhabi managing and storing sensitive information under high security to support the organisation’s digital transformation goals.

Hamad Mohammed Alsudain, Executive Director of Support Services at DCT Abu Dhabi, said: “The holiday homes sector continues to experience robust growth, driven by greater transparency and enhanced efficiency and an increasingly user-friendly operating environment.
“The current improvements reflect our ongoing commitment to digital transformation and honour DCT Abu Dhabi’s commitment under Tourism Strategy 2030 to further enhance the holiday home segment to diversify accommodation options.”
This latest update builds on digital enhancements introduced in 2024, when DCT Abu Dhabi integrated its holiday home licensing platform with the Department of Municipalities and Transport and the self-inspection system, helping reduce permit approval times to under six hours.
The holiday home segment continues to expand as tourism grows in the UAE capital. Key destinations such as Yas Island and Saadiyat Island recorded one of their busiest summers, with international visitor arrivals rising by 50%, according to local developer Miral. Cultural attractions also remain major draws, including the newly opened Zayed National Museum and Natural History Museum.
