UAE’s tallest waterslide among additions launching in April
Yas Waterworld on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, is set to unveil its latest expansion on 4 April 2026, according to developer Miral.
The latest phase of development introduces 11 new attractions, including eight slides, two diving platforms and a family-friendly pool, bringing the park’s total number of attractions to 70. The expansion continues the waterpark’s Lost City theme, inspired by The Legend of the Lost Pearl.
A key highlight of the project is Matamir’s Drop, set to become the UAE’s tallest waterslide, featuring a plunge of more than 40 metres as part of its 233-metre run. Other additions include Sahel Matamir, a high-speed freefall tube racer, and Matamir Splash, a duelling mat race slide.

With eleven new slides and attractions, we are enhancing the park’s offering with fresh thrills and immersive adventures for guests of all ages.”
Yas Island is already home to several major attractions, offering a mix of theme parks and year-round sporting and entertainment events at the Yas Marina Circuit and Etihad Arena.
Looking ahead, Disneyland Abu Dhabi will be the island’s fifth theme park, featuring an indoor Arabian-themed experience when it opens in the 2030s, marking the brand’s debut in the Middle East. Other upcoming projects include Topgolf Yas Island, anticipated to launch in 2026 as the UAE’s second outpost following its debut in Dubai.
