Princess Cruises has held a naming ceremony for its newest ship, Star Princess, with its godparents Camila and Matthew McConaughy.

The couple broke a celebratory bottle of their co-founded drinks company’s Pantalones Organic Tequila on the 4,300-passenger ship at the event in Port Everglades, Florida, US.

The ceremony was hosted by TV personality Dawn McCoy, with speeches from line President Gus Antorcha and Star Princess captain Gennaro Arma, and a performance Sheryl Crow.

Star Princess will now embark on its maiden Caribbean season before sailing its first Alaska voyages in summer 2026.

Antorcha said: “Today’s naming ceremony is a milestone filled with pride and joy for everyone at Princess Cruises.
