New services launched across Sharm El Sheikh, Hurghada and Safaga terminals
Abu Dhabi-based AD Ports Group is expanding its presence in Egypt with the launch of cruise services across three terminals in Sharm El Sheikh, Hurghada and Safaga.
The development follows the company’s 15-year concession agreement, signed in 2024 with Egypt’s Red Sea Ports Authority, to operate and develop cruise terminals along the country’s Red Sea coast.
The launch coincides with Aroya’s arrival at Sharm El Sheikh Cruise Port, marking the first time the cruise ship has sailed directly into the coastal city and docked there. The call followed recent upgrades to the port’s docking capabilities delivered in collaboration between local authorities and AD Ports Group.
Aroya Cruises recently resumed Red Sea sailings following temporary suspensions linked to regional tensions. Following its May itineraries, the cruise line will operate seven-night Mediterranean sailings from Türkiye to destinations across Greece and Egypt.

Noura Al Dhaheri, Chief Executive Officer of Cruise Business at AD Ports Group, said: "Through close collaboration with our partners, we will continue to elevate passenger experience by delivering world-class facilities and seamless services."
The partnership reflects growing momentum in Red Sea cruise tourism, with Sharm El Sheikh, Hurghada and Safaga strengthening their positions on regional and international itineraries.
Alongside its operations in the UAE and Egypt, AD Ports Group also manages Jordan’s Aqaba Cruise Terminal through a partnership with Aqaba Development Corporation.
Beyond cruise tourism, the group is continuing to expand its logistics and maritime footprint across Egypt. Projects include the upcoming US$200 million Noatum Ports Safaga Terminal and the 20km Kezad East Port Said Industrial and Logistics Park near the Suez Canal.
In late 2025, AD Ports Group invested US$279 million to acquire a 19.3% stake in Alexandria Container & Cargo Handling Company (ALCN), one of Egypt’s largest container terminal operators.
