Air Arabia launches daily Sharjah–Munich flights

Air Arabia, the Middle East’s largest low-cost carrier, has launched daily direct flights between Sharjah and Munich, marking the airline’s first German destination served directly from the UAE.

 

With the new route, Air Arabia expands its European network from Sharjah to seven destinations, joining Vienna, Athens, Milan Bergamo, Krakow, Warsaw and Prague.

 

The first service, operating on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, departs Sharjah International Airport (SHJ) at 07:25, arriving at Munich International Airport (MUC) at 11:15. The return flight leaves MUC at 12:05, landing in Sharjah at 21:10 local time.

 

On Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, departures leave SHJ at 17:15, landing in Munich at 21:05. The return journey departs at 21:55, arriving in Sharjah at 07:00 the following day.

Munich, Germany’s third-largest city and the capital of Bavaria, is famed for its historic Marienplatz square, royal palaces such as Nymphenburg, expansive parks including the English Garden and world-class institutions such as the BMW Museum.

Operating flights from three UAE airports, Air Arabia now serves a network of 217 routes. Recent expansions include new services to Sochi, Krabi, Samara, Tbilisi and Almaty in Kazakhstan. The carrier is also preparing to launch the first-ever non-stop route from Sharjah to London on 29 March 2026, with a double-daily service to London Gatwick.

 

The addition of Munich further reinforces Sharjah International Airport’s growing status as a key regional hub for passengers across the GCC and beyond. The airport recently reported its busiest quarter on record — handling more than 5 million travellers in Q3 2025 — supported by new passenger facilities, including a home check-in service.
