Air Arabia sets July debut for Sharjah–London flights

Air Arabia has confirmed 4 July 2026 as the start date for its first non-stop flights between Sharjah International Airport (SHJ) and London Gatwick Airport (LGW), marking the low-cost carrier’s entry into the UK market.

The double-daily service will be operated by Airbus A321neo LR aircraft. Flights will depart SHJ at 03:55 and 13:45, arriving at LGW at 08:45 and 18:35 respectively. Return services will leave Gatwick at 10:05 and 19:35, landing in Sharjah at 20:20 and 05:50 the following day. 

One-way fares start from AED999 (US$272), while return fares are available from AED1,939 (US$528), offering travellers a new low-cost option between the UAE and the UK.

The London service forms part of Air Arabia’s continued European expansion. Recent additions include Munich and Prague, alongside existing services to Athens, Milan Bergamo, Kraków and Warsaw Chopin.

Earlier this month, the airline also announced a new daily service between Sharjah and Aleppo, its second destination in Syria after Damascus, increasing its operations to the country to 21 weekly flights.

Despite recent airspace disruptions caused by the Iran war, Air Arabia reported Q1 2026 revenue of AED1.8 billion (US$490 million), up 1% year-on-year, while carrying 4.7 million passengers across its four operating hubs in the UAE, Morocco, Egypt and Pakistan. Net profit reached AED278 million (US$76 million), with seat load factor improving to 86%.
