Air India Express resumes Salalah and Kuwait flights

Air India Express has restored flights to Salalah and Kuwait in July, marking the full return of services to the carrier’s West Asia network following temporary disruptions linked to the Iran war. 

 

Twice-weekly flights between Kozhikode and Salalah resumed on 2 July, operating on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Services depart Calicut International Airport (CCJ) at 11:00, arrive at Salalah International Airport (SLL) at 13:05, with the return leg leaving Salalah at 14:15 and arriving back at 19:45.

 

The Kozhikode–Kuwait route follows on 3 July, initially operating daily before shifting to a thrice-weekly schedule from 5 July. The expanded service will run on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, departing at 02:15 and arriving at Kuwait International Airport’s (KWI) Terminal 4 at 04:50. Return flights depart at 05:50, arriving at 13:55.

Daily flights to Kuwait from Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport (BLR) will also resume on 4 July, before transitioning to a thrice-weekly schedule from 7 July. Services will operate on Mondays, Tuesdays and Saturdays, departing BLR at 02:25 and arriving at KWI at 04:50. Return flights depart at 05:50, arriving in Bengaluru at 13:25.

 

Air India Express continues to strengthen its regional presence, with flights to 13 destinations across the GCC countries. In Oman alone, the carrier operates flights from both Muscat and Salalah, expanding its reach to multiple local markets. 

 

The carrier recently announced the launch of direct flights between Abu Dhabi and India’s Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) from 15 July 2026, becoming the first airline to operate international services from Maharashtra’s new hub. 

 

Further network expansion includes weekly flights from Guwahati in northeast India to Dubai and Abu Dhabi from 4 August 2026.
