Ajman Tourism targets Chinese travellers with new partnership

Ajman Department of Tourism, Culture and Media has appointed a tourism company to serve as its official representative office in China, as it looks to strengthen its presence in one of the world’s largest outbound tourism markets.

 

The agreement was signed with Hunan Overseas Travel Co, one of China’s top five tourism companies with more than 100 branches and 32 subsidiary companies. The deal was finalised by His Excellency Mahmood Khaleel Alhashmi, Director General of the Ajman Department of Tourism, Culture and Media, and Ms Xiong Lian, General Manager of Hunan Overseas Travel Co. 

 

Under the partnership, the representative office will market Ajman in China through digital campaigns, Chinese-language content and collaborations with local travel agencies and tour operators to encourage more Chinese visitors to the emirate.

The appointment follows Ajman’s recent promotional roadshow in China, which focused on building new business partnerships, attracting inbound tourism and promoting the emirate as a global destination.

 

His Excellency said: "During our recent promotional roadshow, we witnessed growing interest in Ajman and its distinctive tourism and cultural attractions, as well as the authentic experiences the emirate offers to meet the expectations of diverse visitor segments."

 

Ajman’s tourism sector continues to grow, with Masfout mountain village recognised among the world’s Best Tourism Villages to Visit in 2026 by UN Tourism. Located around 90 minutes from the city centre, the destination features rugged mountain landscapes alongside attractions including Masfout Castle and the historic Bin Sultan Mosque.

 

The emirate was also recently recognised as the world’s safest city in Numbeo’s Mid-Year 2026 Safety Index rankings. Several other UAE and GCC cities also featured in the list, including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Doha and Muscat.
