Amansamar in Riyadh to include 80 suites, signature spa and kids’ club
Ultra-luxury brand Aman Group is set to open Amansamar, an exclusive resort with a hotel, branded residences and focus on outdoor living and leisure in the Wadi Safar development, close to Diriyah on the outskirts of Riyadh.
Set in a desert landscape near Unesco-listed site At-Turaif, Wadi Safar is an exclusive destination that once complete, will feature a collection of luxury hotels — including Aman, Oberoi and Six Senses — alongside residences and high-end leisure, all designed to celebrate the area’s heritage and natural beauty.
Amansamar draws its name from ‘Aman’, meaning peace in Sanskrit, and ‘Samar’, the Arabic term for gathering to share stories at night. It’s also a nod to the acacia tree, a symbol of resilience and tranquility, which will feature throughout in the landscape and design.
The resort will include a hotel with 80 suites, designed in Aman’s signature minimalist style by renowned architect and designer Jean-Michel Gathy, whose recent projects include One&Only One Za’abeel in Dubai and Aman Lai Nert in Bangkok.
The property will feature natural materials, subtle patterns and metallic accents to echo the desert landscape.

Facilities will include a focus on wellness, including a signature Aman Spa with hammam and banya houses, or traditional steam baths, plus hydrotherapy spaces, several pools and a Racquet Club.
There will also be multiple dining venues and a Kids’ Club.
Hotel guests and residents will also have access to outdoor activities such as golf at the Greg Norman-designed Royal Signature Golf Course, which is scheduled to open later in 2025, as well as the polo and equestrian facilities, plus hiking and cycling trails.
The project will also introduce the first Aman-branded residences in Saudi Arabia, offering a limited number of five- to six-bedroom villas and private estates, each starting from 9,000 square metres, and with access to the Residence Club for wellness and dining.
Commenting on the resort, Vlad Doronin, CEO of Aman Group, said: “Wadi Safar is one of the most special locations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is rich in history, due to its proximity to Diriyah’s Unesco World Heritage Site, and centrally located in Riyadh, while being surrounded by striking natural beauty.
“From the beginning, we saw it as the ideal setting for Aman, where location is always so important.”
Amansamar adds to Aman Group’s growing presence in the Middle East, joining projects such as Janu Diriyah and Aman AlUla in Saudi Arabia, Aman Dubai and Janu Dubai, and the newly announced Amangati luxury motor yacht, a 183-metre luxury motor yacht developed in partnership with Cruise Saudi, set to begin voyages in the Mediterranean in 2027.
Aman has grown to 36 hotels, resorts and branded residences in 20 destinations across the globe.
