Lars Clasen to lead Saudi Arabia’s first homegrown line
Saudi Arabia’s Aroya Cruises has appointed Cruise Saudi CEO Lars Clasen as its new Interim President, effective immediately.
Clasen succeeds Dr Jörg Rudolph, who steps down after playing a key role in launching Aroya Cruises and “shaping the foundations” of the kingdom’s first domestic cruise line, according to a company statement.

Commenting on the leadership change, Clasen thanked Dr Rudolph for his contributions in bringing the cruise product to life and described the transition as a “natural and positive evolution” for Aroya Cruises.
“We remain focused on accelerating growth, enhancing performance, and delivering Remarkably Arabian experiences that embody the spirit and hospitality of Saudi Arabia,” he added.
