Island remains top choice for couples for second year running
Barbados has retained its title as the Caribbean’s ‘Leading Wedding Destination’ at the World Travel Awards (WTA), marking the second consecutive year the island has received the honour.
The recognition was revealed during the 2025 WTA Caribbean & North America Gala Ceremony in Saint Lucia, where Barbados triumphed over fellow nominees Antigua and Barbuda, Grenada, Jamaica and St Lucia.
Known for its white-sand beaches, tropical scenery and cultural heritage, Barbados offers a variety of scenic locations to host weddings, from beachfront ceremonies to garden venues. The island’s straightforward legal process, with no mandatory waiting period, further enhances its appeal for international visitors.
Couples can choose from an array of tailored celebration packages at world-class resorts, including Marriott’s Turtle Beach by Elegant Hotels and Fairmont’s Royal Pavilion, which was also named Barbados’ Leading Resort at this year’s WTA ceremony.
