Spanish hospitality group to open four hotels in GCC in 2025
Dubai has welcomed a new luxury destination as Occidental Al Jaddaf is re-introduced as Barceló Al Jaddaf, elevating the property from four-star to five-star status and bringing “Spanish hospitality and savoir-faire to the United Arab Emirates”.
The rebrand marks the Barceló brand’s first hotel in the UAE and second property after the Barceló Residences in Dubai Marina, and is part of a wider regional expansion, with four Barceló properties set to open across the GCC in 2025.
These include the recent launch of Barceló Hotel Bahrain in May and forthcoming openings in Oman and Saudi Arabia later this year.
Strategically located just minutes from Dubai’s cultural and business districts as well as Dubai International Airport, Barceló Al Jaddaf offers 365 renovated rooms and suites, each blending contemporary interiors with subtle Spanish influences and offering views of the Dubai skyline.
Dining options are diverse and include the newly launched B-Heaven, a poolside ’urban beach club’ concept combining 180-degree city views by the pool and Mediterranean fusion cuisine, as well as all-day dining venue Souk Restaurant, serving international and local flavours.

With a focus on sustainability, Barceló Al Jaddaf has implemented measures such as solar panel installations, water-saving technologies and a commitment to sourcing at least half of its produce from local suppliers.
Commenting on the rebrand, Eduardo Espiritusanto, General Manager of Barceló Al Jaddaf said: “Our aim with Barceló Al Jaddaf is to bring Spanish hospitality and savoir-faire to Dubai, through our curated services and standards, renowned around Europe and the Americas, and now in the GCC.”
Currently operating more than 20 hotels in five countries across the Middle East and North Africa, Barceló is expected to open properties in Oman and Saudi Arabia later this year.
With a portfolio of over 300 hotels in 30 countries, Barceló Hotel Group is expanding into key markets in the GCC and Egypt, adding to its 20-strong portfolio with this new Dubai rebrand, plus a recently opened hotel in Bahrain and new properties opening in Oman and Saudi before the end of 2025.
The group recently made its debut in the Maldives, opening the first five-star resort in Malé.
