Bookings are now open for Venice’s storied Hotel Danieli, which will reopen on 26 August 2026 as Danieli, A Four Seasons Hotel, following a US$34 million (AED125 million) restoration of the historic property.

Overlooking the Venetian Lagoon from its prime location on the Riva degli Schiavoni, just steps from Piazza San Marco, the reimagined hotel unites three palaces dating back to the 15th century.

French designer Pierre-Yves Rochon led the renovation, drawing on the buildings’ rich history and Venetian artistry. Interiors feature Murano glass chandeliers, terrazzo floors and Italian marble, framed by a palette of soft pinks, lagoon blues and warm terracottas. The renovation also preserves standout features such as the four-storey atrium with pink marble columns and a gilded staircase.

Danieli comprises three historic palaces

Opening with 120 rooms and suites, increasing to 176 next year, the property offers one of Venice’s most extensive selections of interconnecting accommodations. Many rooms overlook the lagoon and come with residential-style layouts, with highlights including the 14th-century Palazzo Grand Dandolo suite and the top-floor Presidential Suite with views of San Giorgio Island.

For dining, the restored rooftop Restaurant Terrazza Danieli, led by Executive Chef Adriano Rausa, will serve seasonal dishes crafted from locally sourced ingredients, including produce from Venice’s Sant’Erasmo island.

Guests can enjoy lagoon views from the terrace, while Bar Dandolo, located off the lobby, provides an elegant setting for coffee or cocktails. Upstairs, Terrazza Danieli’s bar will serve as a prime spot for sunset aperitivos.

The property also offers 848 square metres of event space for private gatherings. In late 2026, the Danieli Spa will open, featuring three treatment rooms – one designed for couples – along with a sauna and hammam.

The hotel will offer immersive experiences and bespoke itineraries that connect guests with the city’s authentic spirit. Guests can discover the art of Voga Veneta at one of Venice’s oldest rowing clubs, meet local artisans in their workshops, or uncover secret gardens hidden behind historic palaces.

For a truly exclusive experience, private dining or afternoon tea can be arranged at Palazzo Duodo on the Grand Canal, hosted by Venetian socialite Mimi Todhunter.

Adrian Messerli, President of Hotel Operations – Europe, Middle East and Africa, Four Seasons, said the renovation had transformed the landmark into “a modern expression of luxury that is both respectful of the past and visionary in its approach to the future.”

General Manager Christian Zandonella added: “At the Danieli, we open the door to authentic cultural connections – working with local craftspeople and celebrating the beauty of everyday life in the city.”

Four Seasons will grow its global footprint in 2026 with new openings in Mykonos, Greece, and on the lakefront in Hanoi, Vietnam, while also debuting in Saudi Arabia with three properties, including Four Seasons Resort Red Sea, forming part of a broader six‑project development pipeline across the kingdom.
