Pool bar and refreshed public venues planned ahead of winter sailings
Crystal Serenity will pause sailings in October 2026 for a three-week drydock covering upgrades to suites, public spaces and onboard systems, including the addition of a new pool bar on Deck 12.
Located mid-ship beside the Seahorse Pool, the new venue is intended to improve service across one of the vessel’s main outdoor guest areas during sailings. Operating hours will vary depending on itinerary and weather conditions.
Public space changes will include additional seating in the Atrium and Crystal Cove, reupholstered chairs in Waterside restaurant and new furniture across Stardust Club, Marketplace dining venue and pool areas.
The refurbishment will also include updates to Aquamarine Classic Suites on Deck 10, where living areas and bathrooms will receive new furnishings inspired by the ship’s 2023 redesign. Corridors on the deck will also receive updated carpeting and wallpaper.
Crystal Serenity is scheduled to return to service on 8 November 2026 with a 15-day transatlantic voyage from Lisbon to Fort Lauderdale before beginning its Caribbean season.

The drydock will also include upgrades to propulsion systems, stabilisers, automation and onboard entertainment systems, alongside hull cleaning and repainting works aimed at improving operational efficiency and reducing fuel and water consumption.
Bernie Leypold, Senior Vice President of Hotel Operations for Crystal, said the refurbishment builds on the line’s recent upgrade programme aboard Crystal Symphony.
“These enhancements underscore our commitment to creating meaningful, memorable experiences for our guests at every touchpoint,” he said.
The refurbishment follows a period of growth for Crystal after the line reported that nearly half of guests in 2025 were new-to-brand, alongside a 67% year-on-year increase in UK bookings.
The company also recently unveiled new 2028 itineraries for Crystal Symphony and Crystal Serenity, alongside the debut season of Crystal Grace, the brand’s first residential-style vessel.
The cruise line recently launched ‘Boot Walk at Sea’, a series of onboard fundraising walks supporting cancer research through a collaboration with The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
