Chef Reif Othman announces new Middle East restaurants

Othman recently won MENA’s 50 Best Restaurants’ Chefs’ Choice Award

Chef Reif Othman has announced the opening of two more restaurants – a licensed restaurant in Dubai and another in Egypt, in addition to a trio of Kushiyaki franchises in Saudi Arabia.

Egypt Restaurant: Reif Japanese Kushiyaki – now open
In Egypt, Reif Japanese Kushiyaki has opened in New Cairo’s 5A By The Waterway complex, in collaboration with franchised partner Baky Hospitality, seating 140 diners in a licensed restaurant with terrace.

Dubai Restaurant: Hoe Lee Kow – coming soon
Othman, whose Kushiyaki restaurant currently sits at number 16 on the MENA’s 50 Best Restaurants list, is embarking on a new culinary journey with the signing of his own unconventional Korean BBQ concept, under the playful name of Hoe Lee Kow, at the Hotel Indigo Dubai Downtown, set to open September 2022. The licensed restaurant will occupy a 220-cover space on the property’s rooftop.

Saudi Arabia Restaurants: Reif Japanese Kushiyaki x 3 – coming soon
Over in Saudi Arabia, the first of three new franchised Reif Japanese Kushiyaki locations in Riyadh, established in partnership with Majd Luxury Ltd, is set to open in The Esplanade Mall at the end of August with 200 covers.

Speaking about his upcoming projects, Hotaru Holdings co-owner chef Othman said: “On the back of pandemic opportunities, we have been fortunate to grow our business and footprint in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Egypt. We have a busy year ahead, in particular with the introduction of a new licensed Korean barbecue concept in our Dubai home. The next step for us is to expand further afield internationally in Europe – something that we are currently discussing with partners.”
