Dubai-based carrier remains world’s most profitable airline
Dubai-based Emirates Group, comprising Emirates and dnata, has extended its record performance with a 17% year-on-year rise in half-year profit before tax to AED12.2 billion (US$3.3 billion) for the first six months of 2025, driven by "strong and sustained" travel demand.
Group revenue increased 4% to AED75.4 billion as Emirates carried more passengers through its Dubai hub.
This marks the fourth consecutive year of record half-year profitability, reaffirming Emirates’ standing as the world’s most profitable airline.
Emirates Airline posted a record profit before tax of AED11.4 billion (US$3.1 billion), up 17% year-on-year, with revenue increasing 6% to AED65.6 billion (US$17.9 billion), driven by 27.8 million passengers between April and September, a 4% rise supported by a 5% increase in available capacity.
The growth was mirrored at Dubai International Airport (DXB), Emirates’ global hub, where passenger volumes held firm despite regional tensions.
DXB handled 22.5 million passengers in the second quarter of 2025, up 3.1% year-on-year.
