Emirates to increase A350 flights to Colombo, Sri Lanka

Emirates will add a second daily Airbus A350 service to Colombo, Sri Lanka, from 8 August 2026, doubling the number of daily flights offering its Premium Economy cabin. The A350 will replace the Boeing 777 currently operating one of the airline’s four daily Colombo services.

The deployment builds on the introduction of the Airbus A350 on the Colombo route in March 2025, expanding access to Emirates’ latest onboard experience for travellers to and from Sri Lanka. 

The new service will also give customers more choice of departure times, with flights departing Dubai International Airport (DXB) at 16:10 and arriving at Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB) in Colombo at 22:10. The return service will depart CMB at 02:55 and arrive at DXB at 05:50.

The A350 brings Emirates’ newest onboard product to the Colombo route, featuring redesigned cabins across all classes, Premium Economy and onboard starlink WiFi.

The carrier has served Sri Lanka since 1986 and now operates four daily services to Colombo, including three non-stop flights from Dubai and one daily service via Malé. Emirates connects customers from Sri Lanka to almost 140 destinations across its global network.

The latest upgrade comes as the airline continues expanding its network and customer offerings. Emirates recently introduced a third daily service between Dubai and Phuket and is investing in a new generation of airport lounges across multiple cities, with AED50 million (US$13.6 million) allocated to each location for upgraded workspaces and redesigned dining areas.
