Services to increase to five per week for khareef season
Etihad Airways has launched direct flights between Abu Dhabi and Salalah, operating year-round services to the coastal Omani city.
Between 21 May and 14 June, the service will run twice-weekly on Thursday and Sunday using Etihad’s two-class Airbus A320 aircraft between Zayed International Airport (AUH) and Salalah International Airport (SLL). Flights depart AUH at 08:25, arriving in SLL at 10:15, while return flights depart at 11:20, reaching Abu Dhabi at 13:10.
Etihad will increase frequencies from two to five weekly flights from 15 June 2026 to accommodate travel demand during the sultanate’s khareef season. Services will operate on Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with schedules unchanged.
Salalah becomes Etihad’s second destination in Oman, following Muscat, which the airline has served for more than 20 years.

Antonoaldo Neves, Chief Executive Officer of Etihad Airways, said: "Salalah is a truly unique destination, renowned for its lush landscapes, pristine beaches, and rich cultural heritage, particularly during the khareef season, when it transforms into one of the Arabian Peninsula’s most captivating holiday escapes.”
Running from June to September, Oman’s khareef monsoon season attracts visitors to the southern Dhofar region with cooler temperatures and seasonal waterfalls. In 2024, Salalah recorded more than one million tourists during the period.
Other additions to Etihad’s upcoming summer network include three new destinations across Europe and Africa. Starting early June, the carrier will fly to Krakow, Palma de Mallorca and Zanzibar. Seasonal returns include Santorini and Mykonos in Greece, Malaga in Spain, Nice in France and Al Alamein in Egypt.
