Switzerland, Bermuda and Canada remain key markets
Fairmont Hotels & Resorts is launching an extensive renovation programme, upgrading 20% of its global portfolio across the Americas, Europe, Africa and Asia.
Among the largest active projects is the US$550 million renovation of Fairmont Southampton in Bermuda, which is set to reopen in Fall 2026. The redevelopment includes upgrades to the resort’s 593 rooms, dining venues, beach club and leisure facilities.
In Europe, Fairmont Grand Hotel Geneva is undergoing a major refurbishment, including the restoration of its historic façade and upgrades to all 400 guestrooms, ahead of its reopening in Fall 2027. Meanwhile, The Savoy in London is restoring its Art Deco and Edwardian wings, with redesigned spaces to be unveiled in summer 2026.

Canada has the brand’s largest redevelopment pipeline, with 10 properties across completed, ongoing and planned upgrades through to 2028. Work is currently underway at Fairmont hotels in seven cities, including Ottawa, Vancouver, Québec, Calgary and Toronto, with Fairmont Winnipeg set to begin a property-wide renovation in July 2026 before reopening in summer 2027.
Key developments include a Himalayan Salt Sauna and couples’ treatment lounge at Fairmont Pacific Rim in Vancouver and a new 1,200-square-foot Presidential Suite at Fairmont Tremblant in Québec.
The investment programme also extends to Asia and Africa, with Fairmont Beijing set to close in September for a full renovation, while refurbishments are actively underway at Fairmont Nile City.
