FIFA World Cup matches to be screened onboard Emirates flights

Emirates passengers will be able to watch every FIFA World Cup match live onboard throughout the 2026 tournament, with coverage available via the airline’s Sport 24 channel.

 

The live broadcasts will run from the opening ceremony in Mexico on 11 June 2026 through to the final in the US on 19 July 2026, allowing travellers to follow the action throughout their journey.

 

The full match schedule is available in the June edition of Emirates’ inflight magazine, helping passengers plan their travel around key fixtures. FIFA World Cup matches will also be screened where possible in Emirates’ lounges at Dubai International Airport (DXB).

 

Other sporting events available on Sport 24 and Sport 24 Extra this summer include the NBA Finals, Sail Grand Prix and selected Formula 1 races.

The World Cup coverage forms part of Emirates’ wider sports sponsorship and broadcasting portfolio. The airline is a partner of major sporting events and organisations including Real Madrid, the ATP Tour, SailGP and the Rugby World Cup, alongside tennis tournaments such as Roland-Garros and the US Open.

 

Emirates recently marked its 14th year as a partner of Roland-Garros, hosting guests, partners and actor Brad Pitt during the French Open finals weekend in Paris. The airline’s sponsorship agreement with the tournament runs through to 2027.

 

The carrier has also continued investing in its onboard passenger experience. Earlier this week, Emirates was named the Middle East’s best airline at the 2026 APEX Best in Airline Awards and was recognised for having the world’s best inflight entertainment through its ice system, which offers more than 6,500 channels across film, television, music and sport.

 

The airline recently reported its strongest financial performance on record, with Emirates Group posting profit before tax of AED24.4 billion (US$6.6 billion), while Emirates posted AED22.8 billion (US$6.2 billion) in profit for the year ended 31 March 2026.
