Flydubai adds second Nepal destination

Flydubai will launch daily flights from Dubai to Pokhara, Nepal, from 23 September 2026, marking its second destination in the country after Kathmandu. Operating from Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport (DXB), the new route will be offered under the Flydubai–Emirates codeshare partnership.

 

The outbound service will depart DXB at 12:00 and arrive at Pokhara International Airport (PHH) at 18:15. The return flight will leave PHH at 19:15 and land in Dubai at 22:00.

 

Return Business Class fares from DXB to PHH start from AED5,000 (US$1,361), while Economy Class Lite fares start from AED1,900 (US$517). From PHH, return Business Class fares start from NPR190,000 (US$1,395) and Economy Class Lite fares cost from NPR91,000 (US$668).

Pokhara, Nepal’s second-largest city, is located near the Annapurna mountain range and serves as a gateway to the country’s adventure tourism and trekking sector. The new service expands Flydubai’s presence in the region, where it has operated since 2009, carrying approximately four million passengers and increasing seat capacity more than 12-fold. During peak travel periods, the carrier operates up to five daily flights to Kathmandu.

 

The launch follows a series of recent network additions for the carrier. Flydubai is set to begin direct flights to Benghazi, Libya, on 17 June 2026, marking the first direct air link between the UAE and the Libyan city. The airline will also launch daily flights to Bangkok, Thailand, from 1 July 2026, adding a second destination in the country after Krabi.

 

Flydubai has also expanded its interline network through a new agreement with Cyprus Airways, increasing connectivity across the Mediterranean, Africa and the Middle East. The carrier’s interline network now includes more than 40 airline partners in addition to its codeshare partnership with Emirates.

 

The airline carried a record 15.7 million passengers in 2025 and recently reported a 19% year-on-year rise in Business Class demand. Flydubai is due to take delivery of seven Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft in 2026 to expand premium capacity across its network.
