Flynas introduces flights from Saudi Arabia’s Al-Qassim airport

Saudi Arabian low-cost carrier Flynas will launch operations from a new base at Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz International Airport (ELQ) in Al-Qassim from July 2026.

 

Initial services will connect Al-Qassim with Abha and Dammam within the kingdom, alongside Cairo, Egypt, and Istanbul and Trabzon in Türkiye. Flynas said additional domestic and international destinations will be added in future phases.

 

The new base expands Flynas’ Saudi operating network, joining its existing bases in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Madinah (Medina) and Abha.

The Al-Qassim launch follows a wider period of network growth for the carrier. Earlier this month, Flynas announced three new European routes to Rome, Munich and Budapest, with services beginning on 24 June 2026 as part of its summer programme covering more than 25 destinations across Europe, Asia and Africa.

 

Flynas has also expanded operations from Abha with six international services, including year-round flights to Dubai, UAE; Cairo, Egypt; Istanbul, Türkiye; and Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, alongside seasonal links to Kuwait and Trabzon, Türkiye, strengthening connectivity to Saudi’s Aseer region.

 

The airline is targeting a network of 165 destinations as part of plans aligned with the kingdom’s Vision 2030 objectives.

 

Expansion has also extended into new markets. Flynas recently signed an agreement to establish a joint-venture airline in Syria, with operations expected to begin in Q4 2026.
