Historic wellness destination reopens as beachfront resort
Hyatt has opened The Barai Hua Hin, introducing its first The Unbound Collection property in Thailand. The hospitality group has redeveloped one of the country’s established wellness destinations, first launched in the early 2000s, into a contemporary luxury resort rooted in spa heritage.
The beachfront resort is located on the Khao Takiap coastline, within easy reach of Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park, Phraya Nakhon Cave and Hua Hin Airport (HHQ), a 25-minute drive away.

Accommodation comprises 98 rooms, including 27 suites and two-bedroom penthouses, each featuring private terraces, butler service and daily in-suite massages for guests. Social spaces include shaded courtyards and two pools, including a beachfront pool and a lagoon-style pool.
Dining spans two key venues, led by Chef Benn Rowe. White Cottage specialises in breakfast, seafood and traditional Thai dishes, while McFarland House serves afternoon tea and Sunday brunches with grilled meats and contemporary European cuisine.
Wellness is centred around the two-storey Barai Spa, which features a 24-hour fitness studio, holistic wellness spaces and a yoga studio. Guests can choose personalised programmes focused on longevity, heart health and sleep recovery.
Marco Avitabile, General Manager of The Barai Hua Hin, said: “Our philosophy is rooted in Sanook, the belief that joy, ease and delight should be part of life’s most meaningful moments. Whether guests come for deep rest, movement, spa rituals, culinary discovery or time by the sea, we invite them to experience renewal in a way that feels personal, memorable and entirely their own.”
The Barai Hua Hin becomes Hyatt’s third property in the coastal town, alongside Hyatt Regency and The Standard. The hospitality group continues to expand across Thailand, with upcoming openings including Hyatt Regency Phuket Mai Khao Beach and the redevelopment of Bangkok’s historic Narai Hotel.
