Heritage building to be redeveloped as luxury lifestyle property
IHG will bring its Kimpton brand to Madrid for the first time with the opening of a luxury lifestyle hotel in mid-2030.
Located in Barrio Salamanca, known for its luxury retail and fine dining, the property will be a 15-minute drive from Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport (MAD) and near key landmarks including the Puerta de Alcalá and the National Library.
Set within a landmark heritage building, the 106-key property will feature a spa, an indoor pool, a ground-floor restaurant and a rooftop dining venue overlooking the Madrid skyline. The hotel will draw on local culture through its design, culinary concepts and guest experiences.
Willemijn Geels, Vice President of Development for Europe at IHG Hotels & Resorts, said: “Spain is a cornerstone of our European growth strategy, offering significant scale potential and strong fundamentals, and we’re delighted to partner with El Corte Inglés on this exciting new hotel.”
