Aquarabia is set to open in 2026 in Saudi Arabia’s Qiddiya City
Saudi Arabia is set to open what it claims will be the Middle East’s largest theme waterpark when Aquarabia launches in 2026 within Qiddiya City, the upcoming entertainment and lifestyle destination located 40 minutes from Riyadh. The opening date is yet to be confirmed.
Spanning around 250,000 square metres, the park occupies a larger footprint than Dubai’s Aquaventure at Atlantis The Palm, which covers some 170,000 square metres, but Aquarabia will debut with 22 slides and attractions, compared to Aquaventure’s 30 rides and experiences.
Beyond its scale, Aquarabia has been designed to complement Six Flags Qiddiya City, which opens on the same date, sitting alongside the kingdom’s largest theme park as the destination’s water-based anchor.
Positioned as a flagship attraction within Qiddiya City’s broader ‘Power of Play’ destination, the park takes creative inspiration from the kingdom’s diverse landscapes and wildlife. Eight themed zones will reflect iconic natural landmarks such as Camel Rock and Viper Canyon, while 81 private cabanas will cater to families and groups seeking added comfort and exclusivity.
Aquarabia also introduces a line-up of record-breaking attractions designed to blend adventure with innovation. Among its two dozen water rides, highlights include Jamal Joom, a 232-metre mega mat blaster featuring high-speed drops and uphill sections, and Junoon Drop, which delivers a dramatic 12-storey vertical freefall for thrill-seekers.
Other standout slides include Speedy Jamezales, billed as the world’s tallest AquaLoop slide with a trapdoor-style start, and Hyper Viper & Jump Jolt, twin raft rides combining steep plunges with cliff-like drops.

Adding another first for the kingdom, Saudi Arabia’s inaugural surf pool will allow visitors to ride ocean-style waves in a desert setting. For younger visitors, FusionFortress 18 features a large-scale interactive play structure with 181 water elements, from small slides and splash jets to water cannons, designed to provide hours of family fun.
Together, these attractions position Aquarabia as a full-day entertainment destination for all ages, or an extended short break when combined with the neighbouring Six Flags amusement park, with combination entry passes set to cover both parks once Aquarabia ticket prices are released.
Six Flags brings 28 rides and attractions, including 10 thrill rides, 18 family experiences and five world-record coasters. Signature experiences include Falcon’s Flight, promoted as the world’s tallest, fastest and longest rollercoaster, and Sirocco Tower, the world’s tallest free-fall ride.
Sustainability forms a key part of the waterpark’s development approach, with Aquarabia aiming to recycle about 80% of its waste and reuse reclaimed water for landscape irrigation and cooling systems wherever possible.
Across the GCC, Atlantis Aquaventure in Dubai and Yas Waterworld on Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island remain among the most popular water parks for families and thrill-seekers, while the UAE expands its offerings with the new Grand Hyatt Dubai Resort water park, featuring 16 attractions. Elsewhere, Qatar’s Desert Falls Water & Adventure Park offers an extensive network of slides alongside a large wave pool, and Bahrain’s The Lost Paradise of Dilmun – one of the Gulf’s most established parks – is undergoing a US$30 million transformation, adding new attractions and experiential zones.
Looking ahead to 2026, two surf-focused water parks are set to open — one in Abu Dhabi and another in Bahrain — signalling further growth in the region’s water-based attractions.
