The 54-hectare property has officially opened on the Maldives’ Noonu Atoll
The resort welcomed its first guests with a traditional Maldivian dance and boduberu drumming sessions before hoisting the flags of Siyam World, Beach House Collection and the Maldives.
During the opening ceremony, Sun Siyam Resorts managing director and founder Ahmed Siyam said: “This island is one of the most unique products we have developed as a group, a game-changer and record-breaker in every way. Siyam World GM, or ‘island chief’, Tom Mcloughlin said: “We are on one of the largest natural islands naturally formed and not reclaimed which ensures a pristine house reef that includes the famous snow-white dive site in the Maldives.”

The resort is home to no fewer than a dozen restaurants including four all-day pool bars. As evening falls, guests can dine their way across culinary continents, with à la carte Spanish, Japanese, Indian and Thai cuisine at Andalucia, Arigato*, Kurry Leaf and Takrai, complimented by Siyam World’s signature contemporary Maldivian restaurant, The Wahoo Grill. Night owls can then head onto the island’s 24-hour sports bar KulhiVaru.
