Mandarin Oriental debuts Mallorca resort

Mandarin Oriental has expanded its Spanish portfolio with the opening of Mandarin Oriental Punta Negra, Mallorca, its third property in the country.

Located in Calvià on Mallorca’s southwest coast, the resort sits near Puerto Portals marina, known for its upscale boutiques, waterfront dining and regattas, while Palma de Mallorca Airport (PMI) and the Port of Palma are both within a 20-minute drive.

Housed in the former Hotel Punta Negra, originally established in the 1960s, the property is framed by Aleppo pine trees and nearby cliffs. Accommodation comprises 131 keys, including rooms with private pools and sea views, alongside a signature three-bedroom penthouse.

The current F&B lineup includes Mediterranean venue Leppoc and tapas restaurant Sobretaula. In July 2026, the resort will add four more dining venues, including Mexican restaurant Jacinta, poolside bar Thalos, Spanish steakhouse Leña by Dani García and Matsuhisa, serving the chef’s signature Japanese-Peruvian cuisine.
