Hospitality group expands footprint with landmark hotel signing in Makkah

Marriott International has reached a major development milestone with 100 properties across Saudi Arabia, including both operational hotels and upcoming projects. The achievement coincides with the signing of a new agreement with Saudi-based investment group SEDCO Capital to develop a 1,100-room Courtyard by Marriott property in Makkah.
Expected to open in 2030, Courtyard by Marriott Makkah Masar will anchor the Holy City’s new Masar Destination, a multi-use development integrating commercial, retail, residential and cultural facilities that aligns with Saudi’s goal to host 30 million pilgrims annually by 2030.
The property will span 4,500-square-metres and feature multiple dining venues, a ballroom, a fitness centre, a kids’ club and retail stores.
