Expansion to add more than 1,300 keys to kingdom
Marriott International has partnered with Saudi Arabian developer Blacksand to develop 10 new hotels in the kingdom over the next four years.
The agreement, signed at the Future Hospitality Summit in Riyadh, will add more than 1,300 rooms across Marriott’s luxury, premium, select-service and long-stay brands. The pipeline includes St Regis Hotels & Resorts, Marriott Hotels, Autograph Collection and Courtyard by Marriott.
The hotels will be developed across several Saudi cities, with Riyadh set to welcome the first property. Construction is currently underway, with openings planned through to 2030. The developments are also expected to create more than 6,000 jobs, with Saudi nationals accounting for 60% of the workforce.

Jerome Briet, Chief Development Officer for Europe, Middle East & Africa at Marriott International said: “This landmark deal with Blacksand reflects Marriott’s continued focus on diversifying our portfolio across Saudi Arabia.
“From immersive resort escapes and design-led stays to vibrant social hubs and extended-stay living, we look forward to introducing a range of experiences tailored to meet the evolving needs of travellers visiting the kingdom.”
The agreement follows a similar partnership announced earlier this year with developer Al Qimmah Hospitality for five new hotels across Jeddah, Makkah and Madinah. The project added more than 2,700 rooms to the pipeline and introduced four brands, including JW Marriott and the market debut of Four Points Flex by Sheraton.
As of November 2025, Marriott’s portfolio in Saudi reached 100 properties, spanning both operational and upcoming hotels, reflecting the hospitality group’s commitment to the kingdom.
