Turkish hospitality brand marks first international expansion
Maxx Royal will expand into the Indian Ocean with Maxx Royal Maldives, set to open in autumn 2027 as the brand’s first resort outside Türkiye.
Located in Kaafu Atoll, the resort will be accessible via a 30-minute speedboat transfer from Velana International Airport (MLE).
The resort will feature villas, dining venues and social spaces spread across interconnected islands, combining private experiences with communal living.
Accommodation will include overwater and garden villas, each with a private pool, as well as multi-bedroom options for larger groups. A limited collection of villas at the far end of the island archipelago will form a private enclave with its own beach, wellness facilities and dedicated service team.

Dining will be led by Leña from Michelin-lauded chef Dani García and Spago from Wolfgang Puck, alongside restaurants serving Latin, Persian, Japanese and Turkish cuisine, including Casa Sol and Caviar Kaspia. All-day venues will include a pool bar, Twenty4 and Le Melange & Chocolatier by Maxx Royal.
The resort will offer pre-arrival concierge support through its Maxx Assistant programme, alongside Kiaya, an exclusive butler service for guests staying on Thari Island.
Family-focused facilities will include two dedicated spaces for young guests, Maxxi Land and Young Royals Club, each offering tailored activities for different age groups.
Sustainability initiatives will also form part of the resort’s offering, with plans for a Marine Biology Centre and a Manta Protection Programme to preserve marine biodiversity and minimise environmental impact.
The Maldives property will be Maxx Royal’s fifth hotel, following four coastal resorts in Türkiye. The group’s Bodrum property, The Maxx Royal, was previously recognised in Time Magazine’s ‘World’s Greatest Places’ list in 2025.
