Oman Air launches weekly flights between Bahrain and Salalah

Oman Air has partnered with Discovery Travel to launch a charter service between Bahrain and Salalah, strengthening connectivity to Oman’s Dhofar region during the annual khareef monsoon season.

 

The direct service will launch on 10 July 2026 and operate once a week on Fridays throughout the season, which runs annually from June to September, adding 1,134 seats for travellers from Bahrain. During this time period, Salalah and the wider Dhofar region remains a popular summer destination, attracting visitors with its cooler temperatures, lush landscapes and waterfalls.

 

To meet seasonal demand, the airline will also add 60 flights between Muscat and Salalah during the month of July, increasing capacity by 11,766 seats and supporting international connectivity through Muscat International Airport (MCT).

Ignacio Bosch, Acting Chief Commercial Officer at Oman Air, said: "Khareef continues to attract strong demand from across the GCC, and Bahrain represents an important source market for Salalah. 

 

“By introducing this charter service alongside additional domestic capacity, we are providing greater flexibility for travellers while supporting the continued growth of Dhofar as one of the region’s leading tourism destinations."

 

The new Bahrain charter complements Oman Air’s wider network expansion for the khareef expansion, including the launch of year-round flights between Dubai and Salalah in July 2026. 

 

Elsewhere in the GCC, the airline recently announced a new daily service between Muscat and Abu Dhabi, which launched on 9 July 2026, becoming its 10th destination in the region.
