Oman Air to launch Muscat–Abu Dhabi flights

Oman Air is set to launch a new daily service between Muscat and Abu Dhabi from 9 July 2026, further expanding its GCC network.

 

Flights will depart Muscat International Airport (MCT) at 18:50, arriving at Zayed International Airport (AUH) at 20:05, while return services will leave Abu Dhabi at 20:55 and land back in Muscat at 22:10.

 

Services will be operated by Boeing 737 aircraft, with a flight time of approximately one hour each way. Return fares start from OMR86.200 (US$225). 

 

Con Korfiatis, Chief Executive Officer of Oman Air, said, "Abu Dhabi is a natural addition to our network, not only because of its importance as a regional business and travel hub, but because it strengthens the connectivity ecosystem that supports both Oman and the wider GCC.”

Abu Dhabi will mark the airline’s 10th destination in the GCC and its 49th overall, signalling continued network expansion. The UAE remains a key market for Oman Air, which will also launch direct Dubai–Salalah flights in July to meet demand during the khareef season.

 

The carrier is also growing across Asia, Africa and Europe, with recent additions including Tashkent, Singapore, Kigali and Vienna, alongside seasonal charter services to Hanoi.

 

The new routes come after a strong 2025, when Oman Air reported a 34% increase in inbound traffic and carried nearly six million passengers, up 8% year on year.
