Three Doha–Beijing services to start 16 October
Qatar Airways and China Southern Airlines are expanding their codeshare cooperation, with three weekly flights between Doha and Beijing Daxing launching on 16 October 2025.
With this frequency increase and codeshare expansion, Qatar Airways and its two strategic partners, China Southern Airlines and Xiamen Airlines, will now offer 64 weekly flights across eight gateways in Greater China,
Under the new agreement, Qatar Airways will codeshare on three weekly China Southern’s Beijing Daxing services, while China Southern will add its ’CZ’ code on Qatar Airways-operated flights beyond Doha to 15 destinations across Africa, Europe, and the Middle East, including Amman, Athens, Barcelona, Cairo, Dar es Salam, Madrid and Munich.
The expansion comes ahead of China’s Golden Week holiday in October and adds momentum to the cooperation agreement the two carriers signed last year.

This builds on the arrangement already in place since April 2024, when Qatar Airways began placing its code on China Southern’s Guangzhou–Doha flights.
With the addition of Beijing, China Southern now operates two non-stop services into Doha, alongside Guangzhou.
The airline is also seeking regulatory approvals to codeshare on Qatar Airways-operated routes to Chengdu, Chongqing, Hangzhou and Shanghai.
Akbar Al Baker, Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, said: “By offering more choice and seamless travel options through Doha, we are ensuring Chinese travellers can connect easily to key destinations across Europe, Africa, the Middle East and the Americas.”
Both airlines also signalled that future areas of collaboration may include cargo and loyalty programmes, pointing to a deepening of their partnership.
