Pay later and interest-free instalments offer convenience on flight bookings
Qatar Airways has teamed up with digital bank Klarna to expand flexible payment options for travellers booking flights across Europe.
Passengers can now choose to pay in full, pay later within 30 days, split payments into three interest‑free instalments or spread costs over a longer period with monthly payments.
The Klarna checkout, powered by WorldPay, will initially be available in 17 European markets including the UK, Germany, France, Spain and Italy, but not for travellers booking from the GCC.
While Klarna’s rollout is focused on Europe, travellers in the UAE and Saudi Arabia already have access to similar payment solutions through Tabby.
The UAE‑based payment app enables customers to book flights with regional airlines such as Flydubai and Air Arabia and hotels via online travel agent platforms such as Almosafer and offers four interest‑free instalments for flights with more than 600 airlines.

The Qatar Airways-Klarna deal is expected to make it easier for European travellers to book flights to the region and connect through Doha, supporting Qatar’s tourism growth.
“By partnering with Klarna, we’re making the Qatar Airways booking journey more convenient, giving our customers greater confidence and at the point of payment," said Qatar Airways’ SVP of Digital Commercial, Christophe Guittard.
Demand for stopovers in Doha continues to rise, with the Discover Qatar Stopover Programme growing 165% year on year in the first half of 2025.
In that period, the programme generated more than 100,000 room nights, driven by strong demand from key European markets including the UK, Germany and the Netherlands.
Doha was recently named the second best city in the world for a layover, according to a study by AllClear travel insurance.
Qatar Airways operates a global network of more than 170 destinations through its hub at Hamad International Airport and was named the World’s Best Airline by Skytrax for the ninth time in 2025.
