Airline carries more than 41m passengers
Qatar Airways Group recorded a post-tax profit of QAR7.08 billion (US$1.94 billion) for the 2025-26 fiscal year despite regional disruptions impacting operations in the final months.
The Doha-based carrier transported more than 41 million passengers during this period, operating a global network through Hamad International Airport (DOH) with a fleet of 300 aircraft. The group’s cargo division carried more than 1.43 million tonnes of freight, maintaining a 12% global market share.
The airline also expanded its onboard offerings with Starlink in-flight WiFi, including the launch of the world’s first Boeing 787 equipped with the service in January 2026, and the completion of its Airbus A350 rollout.

Qatar Airways maintained an 86% on-time performance rate, ranking amongst the world’s top five carriers for punctuality, according to the Cirium Platinum Award for Operational Excellence.
The airline also secured multiple industry accolades, including Skytrax’s World’s Best Airline 2025 title, while Hamad International Airport was named Best Airport in the Middle East for the 11th consecutive year. Qatar Duty Free was also named the world’s Best Airport Shopping destination for the third year in a row.
Hamad Al-Khater, Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer, said: “Behind every result are 57,800 people, working across more than 90 countries. In the final weeks of the financial year, many of them were managing an active crisis with a standard of professionalism that defines this organisation as much as any financial metric.”
Qatar Airways is targeting a network of more than 160 destinations by summer 2026 as it rebuilds its schedule. This includes the launch of new routes such as Bogotá, Colombia, and Caracas, Venezuela, in South America, as well as Port Sudan in Africa.
