Added frequencies to boost connectivity from February 2026
Qatar Airways is set to increase its operations across South Africa with seven additional weekly flights to Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban from February 2026, enhancing connectivity through its Doha hub at Hamad International Airport.
The national carrier of Qatar will add three more weekly flights to Johannesburg, two to Cape Town and two to Durban, bringing the airline’s total flights to South Africa to 42 per week. The expansion aims to meet growing passenger demand and strengthen links between South Africa and key global markets including China, Europe and the US.
From 18 February, flights between Johannesburg and Doha will increase from 18 to 21 per week. The Cape Town–Doha service will grow from 12 to 14 weekly flights from 17 February, while the Durban–Doha route via Maputo will expand from five to seven weekly from 5 March 2026.
