Mixed-use project includes residences, hotels and private beach facilities
His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has opened the Khor Fakkan Resort, a new US$190 million (AED700 million) new US$190 million (AED700 million) mixed-use beachfront development development on the emirate’s east coast.
Developed by Asas Real Estate, the property arm of Sharjah Islamic Bank, the project spans approximately 330,000 square feet with a built-up area of 1.4 million square feet.
Located directly on Khor Fakkan Beach near the Khor Fakkan Amphitheatre and Waterfall, the development includes hotels and 573 residential units ranging from one- to four-bedroom layouts, alongside 16 retail outlets, hotels, outdoor swimming pools, fitness facilities, elevated green spaces covering 100,000 square feet and a private beach.
The project offers freehold ownership to all nationalities, supporting Sharjah’s wider efforts to attract tourism and real estate investment into Khor Fakkan and the emirate’s eastern region.

The opening comes as Sharjah continues expanding tourism and aviation infrastructure across the emirate. Sharjah International Airport welcomed a record 19.4 million passengers in 2025, up nearly 14% year-on-year, supported by new route additions and airport upgrades.
The airport also recently expanded its luxury aviation offering with the opening of a new US$65 million Business Aviation Centre developed by Gama Aviation. The facility includes VVIP lounges and suites, a private jet hangar for up to 20 aircraft and a helipad, strengthening
Sharjah’s position in the premium aviation segment.
Khor Fakkan’s hospitality offering is set to expand further with the opening of LUX* Khorfakkan in Q4 2026, an eco-focused resort featuring 45 cabins inspired by the destination’s natural landscape and local heritage.
Sharjah welcomed more than two million hotel guests across 102 hotels in 2025, generating US$212.4 million (AED780 million) in hotel revenue. Russian travellers represented the emirate’s largest source market during the period, followed by India, according to the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority.
