Luxury Maldivian resort Sun Siyam Vilu Reef hosted a health-focused awareness programme on 7 February 2026 to mark World Cancer Day. Held in partnership with the Cancer Society of Maldives, the initiative aimed to promote disease prevention, early detection and wellbeing across the local community.
The event began with a community run and breakfast on the neighbouring island of Meedhoo in Dhaalu Atoll, followed by an educational seminar geared toward students. Later, Vilu Reef resort team members participated in a wellbeing and support session.
Reflecting on the event, Resort Manager Thoha Yoosuf said: “We are deeply grateful to the Cancer Society of Maldives for their expertise and partnership.
“Our mission is to foster a culture of proactive health, ensuring our team and the local community are empowered with the knowledge to build a more resilient future together.”
