UAE lifts Lebanon travel ban

UAE nationals can now resume travel to Lebanon after the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) lifted its previous travel ban on the country on 29 June 2026.

 

Travellers will, however, still be required to register through MoFA’s Twajudi registration service before departure, providing emergency contact details and an address in Lebanon. Any changes to travel or contact information must also be updated accordingly.

 

In an online statement, MoFA said: “UAE nationals will not be permitted to depart through the country’s ports of exit until registration is complete. Failure to register may result in the suspension of travel procedures and legal accountability.” 

 

Citizens have been advised to monitor official travel advisories for Lebanon via MoFA’s website and smart application. For emergencies, the organisation has provided a hotline for UAE nationals abroad, available at +971 800 24.

The ban was originally imposed in April 2026 for Lebanon, Iraq and Iran due to regional security concerns. No further updates have been issued regarding travel restrictions to Iraq and Iran.

 

The announcement follows a series of recent travel policy changes by UAE authorities. Most recently, the country expanded its visa-on-arrival programme to nationals of six additional countries: Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, South Africa and Kenya.

 

Eligible nationals holding valid residence permits issued by the US, UK, EU, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, New Zealand or Australia can obtain a 14-day or 60-day visa on arrival in the UAE.
