UK lifts Gulf travel warning

The UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) has revised its travel advice for the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Oman, removing its previous advice against all but essential travel following the agreement between the US and Iran.

Despite updating its advisory, the FCDO warned that the regional security situation remains “unpredictable.” Travellers have been advised to monitor local media, follow guidance from local authorities and keep their travel plans under review. 

The FCDO advises: “The US and Iran have announced a memorandum of understanding in relation to the conflict in the Middle East. The situation remains unpredictable and attacks could resume at short notice.”
