Hilton expands kingdom footprint with 15 hotels in the pipeline
Hilton is set to more than double its portfolio in Morocco, with plans to open 15 hotels across the kingdom as it marks the brand debut of Waldorf Astoria Rabat Salé.
Located within Morocco’s tallest building, Mohammed VI Tower, the 55-key Waldorf Astoria Rabat Salé overlooks the Bouregreg River and sits between the cities of Rabat and Salé. The property features multiple dining venues, 1,300 square metres of event space and a curated private art collection. The launch marks the 11th Waldorf Astoria hotel in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, bringing its global portfolio to more than 40 properties.
Hilton is also scaling its multi-brand presence across the country, with new signings spanning its lifestyle, luxury and focused-service segments. The expansion will take the Morocco portfolio to 25 properties across 10 brands and is expected to create more than 2,000 jobs.

The group will introduce Tapestry Collection by Hilton to Morocco with planned 2028 openings in Casablanca and Chefchaouen, while growing Curio Collection by Hilton in Marrakech with a new 62-room property scheduled for 2029.
Further development is expected along emerging coastal destinations, including Nador and Tetouan, where new hotels under DoubleTree by Hilton and Hilton Garden Inn are in the pipeline, opening in 2028 and 2029, respectively.
Chris Nassetta, President and CEO of Hilton, said: “With a rich tradition of hospitality and a rapidly growing tourism sector, the country continues to attract increasing numbers of visitors, and we see clear opportunities to expand across both established cities and emerging destinations.”
Across the wider MENA region, Hilton aims to add more than 40,000 rooms across 15 brands, as it continues to scale its footprint. The Waldorf Astoria brand, in particular, is set to strengthen in Saudi Arabia, with new projects planned in Riyadh, Diriyah Gate and Madinah.
