Introducing the Maldives’ first Aqua Wellness Centre…
The new 7,735-square-foot Aqua Wellness Centre features a custom-built hydrotherapy pool, ice fountain, steam room and sauna. Set over crystal Maldivian waters, the 2,906 square-foot outdoor pool is designed in zones, each with stations that target different parts of the body. The zones – which include a jet bath, air jets, shower jets and massage lounger – use varying levels of intensity and water temperature to ease muscle tension, boost the immune system, increase blood circulation, speed up metabolism and improve deep sleep quality.
The pool experience
Guests can enjoy a healthy lunch in the garden and a choice of massage, meditation or yoga following the pool experience.
All spa journeys begin with a Wellness Concierge offering a personalised consultation. Alongside the expanded spa menu, Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi welcomes a diverse range of leading wellness experts who will guide guests through customised treatments in private sessions. Specialities range from holistic medicine and martial arts to crystal healing and Ayurveda.

Speaking about the luxury resort’s new state-of-the-art facilities, Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi general manager Etienne Dalancon said: “Now more than ever, travellers are looking for new wellness experiences to rejuvenate the mind, body and spirit. The Aqua Wellness Centre and Hydrotherapy Pool are harmonious havens of wellbeing and aim to quickly reset travellers’ bodies so they can enjoy the Maldives to the fullest. Our new healthy menu, designed in collaboration with our poolside restaurant, The Ledge by Dave Pynt, will be a place for our guests to nourish from within and complete their holistic wellness journey.”
